Gazza takes up booze again, filmed in documentary

London, July 7 (ANI): Troubled football star Paul Gascoigne reportedly failed bid to end his alcohol addiction was filmed by documentary makers.

The alcoholic star had agreed to be shadowed by a TV crew for what was supposed to be an inspirational film on his brave fight back from the brink of death, the Mirror reports.

According to the report, scenes were shot of Gascoigne happily going into pubs without succumbing to the temptation to drink alcohol, and sipping soft drinks and chatting to other customers about how he had finally managed to face his demons.

However, sources said that the former Newcastle and England ace has taken up alcohol again, with distressing scenes being captured of him drinking himself into a stupor and breaking down in tears, adding that the football ace signed up knowing that it was a fly-on-the-wall documentary and he would be contractually obliged to let them film whatever they liked.

Unfortunately for him, this latest breakdown is likely to be played out to the public, with the sources saying that although the programme makers thought that they were making a positive, uplifting film which would leave the viewer feeling good about Gazza's future, they have ended with car-crash TV that will probably pull in even more viewers.
