FIFA launches website for whistleblowers to pull plug on corruption

Johannesburg, Feb 7 (ANI): Football governing body FIFA has created a website where whistleblowers can report any allegations of corruption and match-fixing going on internationally.

According to FIFA, the website, which is in four languages, is administrated by an outside agency called Business Keeper, and any alleged breach of FIFA's Code of Ethics will directly reach Michael Garcia, who is the lead ethics prosecutor of FIFA, Sport24 reports.

FIFA said that the project is a part of its ongoing reforms to help ensure that stakeholders in football are setting standards for legal and ethical behavior.

FIFA has also created a private telephone hotline for officials in its 209 member federations to report corruption and ethics violations. (ANI)
