Ex-Wales manager Toshack says Bale 'should take two months off to shake injury at Madrid'

London, Oct 18 (ANI): Former Wales football manager John Toshack has said that he is confident striker Gareth Bale will be a hit at Real Madrid, even if he requires an extended period on the sidelines to recover from injury.

According to Metro.co.uk, Bale, who was given his first call-up to the Wales senior side by Toshack in 2006, has only made one start for Real Madrid since his mega-money transfer from Tottenham.

Toshack, now the manager of Khazar Lankaran FK in Azerbaijan, thinks that Bale should not rush back too soon and believes the 23-year-old will thrive at Los Blancos because he's an extraordinary player, the report said.

He also said that the club must decide and if Bale has to be out for another two months, then that must happen.

Toshack added that Bale is a mentally strong lad but has been unlucky with injuries, adding that when he coached him there were no back problems but it was the ankle.

Recent news that Bale may have suffered a slipped disc in his back was refuted by Madrid, shrouding the 24-year-old's absence from the first team in mystery, according to the report. (ANI)
