Ex-Pak pacer Sarfraz Nawaz says bowlers need to be used `intelligently` for better results

Karachi, Sept 12 (ANI): Former Pakistani Test pace bowler Sarfraz Nawaz has said that bowlers, either pacers or spinners, should be used in an intelligent manner to get better results.

According to The Nation, the former cricketer believes that the team selection for certain matches should be made keeping in view the opponent team.

Stating that inclusion of fast bowlers along with world class spinners is more important for the team in Tests, Nawaz also added his support to the numerous voices calling for the calling in of young players in the squad and said that youngsters should have been inducted in Pakistan's two-Test match series against Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, Nawaz also said that Pakistan must focus on preparing good teams for next year's ICC World Twenty20 tournament to be held in Bangladesh and for the 2015 World Cup jointly staged by Australia and New Zealand.

Expressing his astonishment that talented young batsmen Umar Amin, Sohaib Maqsood and Haris Sohail were not part of Pakistan Test squad, Nawaz further said that the trio is the future of Pakistan cricket and their presence in the team would have made a big difference.

According to Nawaz, domestic cricket in Pakistan should be on strong footing to fuse the new blood in the camp, adding that he hoped that recalled opener Khurram Manzoor and Asad Shafiq would be given full run in the short Test series against Zimbabwe. (ANI)
