England's 'tweaker' options lay bare Oz spin weakness ahead of Old Trafford Test

Sydney, July 29 (ANI): The inclusion of Monty Panesar as a second spinner in England's third Ashes Test is something that points towards Australia's lack of quality spinners in their squad, according to Australian media reports.

According to news.com.au, Old Trafford has a reputation for aiding spin, which has been a significant weapon against the Australians on this tour.

While it would be a surprise if England changed a winning side after going 2-0 up with a 347-run victory at Lord's, clearly the possibility of playing two spinners and just two fast bowlers is being considered, the report said.

The fact that Steve Smith, who is basically a part-time spinner, took multiple English wickets is also worrying for the Australian side, the report added.

Agar had taken just two wickets in the series despite being played as a spinner, the report further said. (ANI)
