Sydney, Apr 3 (ANI): England fast bowler Chris Tremlett has been named in the 30-man squad for the mid-year international season, including the back-to-back Ashes series.
According to News.com.au, although Tremlett has not played a Test match since January 2012 because of a chronic back problem, he has been handed an opportunity to prove that he is fit enough for the rigours of international cricket as he played an important role in England's 2010-11 Ashes success in Australia.
However, according to England and Wales Cricket Board national selector Geoff Miller, the players included in the EPS (England Performance Squad), with the exception of Tremlett, have been involved with one or more of the England squads during the winter.
But Miller further said that the players included in this squad reflect the progress they have made with senior England teams and the England Lions, for which they have been selected.
According to the report, the squad includes captain Alastair Cook, Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Jonny Bairstow, Ian Bell, Ravi Bopara, Tim Bresnan, Danny Briggs, Jos Buttler, Nick Compton, Jade Dernbach, Steven Finn, Alex Hales, James Harris, Craig Kieswetter, Michael Lumb, Stuart Meaker, Eoin Morgan, Graham Onions, Monty Panesar, Samit Patel, Kevin Pietersen, Matt Prior, Joe Root, Graeme Swann, James Tredwell, Chris Tremlett, Jonathan Trott, Chris Woakes, Luke Wright.
