England celebrate Mohammad Hafeez's wicket.

Left-arm spinner Danny Briggs and fast bowler Jade Dernbach took three apiece as England defeated Pakistan by 15 runs in a practice game of the ICC World T20 on Tuesday.

Playing at the P. Sara Oval here, England chose to bat were all out for 111 in 19.3 overs as Pakistan offie Saeed Ajmal picked up four wickets.

Luke Wright top-scored with 38 (36b, 4x4) and Eoin Morgan (10), Jonny Bairstow (14) and Jos Buttler (15) got starts, only to make a hash of them. Ajmal ran through the batting line up, conceding just 14 in his four overs.

In reply, Pakistan finished on 96-9 in 20 overs, unable to gain any momentum in their chase. Briggs (3-15) removed the openers early on, and Dernbach  (3-14) accounted for the lower order, which was no mean feat considering Abdur Razzaq and Kamran Akmal were manning nos. 8 and 9.

Brief score: England 111 in 19.3 overs (Luke Wright 38, Saeed Ajmal 4-14) bt Pakistan 96-9 in 20 overs (Danny Briggs 3-15, Jade Dernbach 3-14).
