Early start to England one-dayers

Calcutta/ New Delhi: The timings of the first four matches of the India-England ODI series have been revised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) due to the dew factor.

The matches will be starting at noon which is two-and-a-half-hour earlier than the scheduled start of play. The five-match series will be played in January with the first match in Rajkot on January 11.

Remaining matches whose timings have been changed will take place in Kochi, Ranchi and Mohali respectively. "The timings of the day-night matches have been revised, to counter the dew factor and ensure the best playing conditions for both the teams," a BCCI media release said.

The Telegraph had reported on November 11 that the Jharkhand Cricket Association president Amitabh Choudhary would request the Board for a review of the 2.30 pm start.
