DMRC prepares for taking over Airport Metro Express Line

New Delhi, June 30 (ANI): Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) here on Sunday kick-started preparations for smooth take-over of the Airport Metro Express Line from its private operator.

This comes after the Reliance Infrastructure-led operator's inability to run the services from tonight. The 22.7 kilometre rail line is a key link connecting the heart of the city to the Indira Gandhi International airport.

DMRC said in a statement that an operations and management team of 100 officials has been deputed to handle the operation of the line.

Managing Director of DMRC has also formed a core committee of seven senior officials to handle the extreme emergency situations.

However, the staff currently employed by the private operator in station management and train operation will continue to carry on their responsibilities under the supervision of DMRC team. DMRC officials yesterday had a meeting with the operator of the airport metro express line for smooth transition of services. (ANI)
