Dhoni lauds good, all round show by team after India thrash Oz in Hyderabad Test

Hyderabad, Mar 5 (ANI): Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has praised his team's brilliant all round show after India thrashed Australia by an innings and 135 runs on day four of the second Test match in Hyderabad, and took a two-nil lead in the four-match series.

Australia became the first team in Test history to declare in their first innings and then lose by an innings, as the visitors began the day on 74-2, trailing by 192 runs. But they were bowled out for 131.

Cheteshwar Pujara was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant 204 in the first innings, which catapulted India to a total of 503 in reply to Australia's first inning score of 237-9 declared.

Ravichandran Ashwin was again the chief destroyer as he picked up five wickets in Australia's second innings.

Dhoni said after the match that it was important to get off to a good start, adding that fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3-53 in first innings) did well to provide them with that.

Dhoni praised Pujara and opener Murli Vijay (167) for batting beautifully during the first innings and helping India post a big total.

Dhoni said it was a very good bowling performance from his players after Ishant Sharma provided an early breakthrough in the first session.

The Ranchi-born batsman said the whole team deserves credit for their smashing win over Australia, as every one played their part really well.

Meanwhile, Australian captain Michael Clarke said India once again outplayed them in every facet of the game, and they would have to work hard over their deficiencies to bounce back in the third Test match. (ANI)
