Dhoni grows milk tweet

Indulges in friendly banter on social site

In a country obsessed with cricket, he is the most sought after icon. And why not Mahendra Singh Dhoni has guided the Indian team to several peaks in the last six years.

But the achievements have come at a cost, with the 32-year-old Dhoni getting little time to indulge in his personal interests.

The ongoing Zimbabwe tour has seen the youngsters performing admirably, being led by the flamboyant Virat Kohli. It has also given Dhoni much deserved rest and a chance to pursue what he likes most — bikes, dogs and, of course, milk.

So, when Captain Cool came up with a barrage of tweets on Thursday to let his fans know what their favourite cricketer is doing during the break, there was hardly any surprise.

It started with Dhoni taking a dig at the business sense of the milk provider in his hometown Ranchi. “Tell me one business where home delivery of the product is cheaper compared to the price of the product when u go and pick it up,” he tweeted.

And the answer that Dhoni came up with was also quite interesting. “In Ranchi if the milkman delivers milk to ur house he charges 32 rs but if u go and pick it from his place he asks for 34 rs,” is what he said.

The skipper’s love for dogs is also well known. When his favourite Alsatian, Sam, died in May, he expressed his sorrow on the social media with a number of tweets describing the canine.

He has another pet in Zarah, a Labrador, and now another member has been added to the family. “Adopted a rescued pup from Hope and Animal Trust Ranchi .v call her Leah in English and Liya in Hindi,” Dhoni tweeted.

Dhoni had also adopted a nine-year-old tiger named Agasthya in 2011 at the Chamarajendra Zoological Park, better known as Mysore zoo.

And how can one forget his weakness for bikes? He has some of the most expensive ones at his Ranchi home, but has also not forgotten the one from which it all started. “I think my plan of action is to restore the 1st bike tht I bought for rs4500, will upload its pic maybe tomorrow. its in a very bad shape,” he tweeted.
