Washington, July 25 (ANI): US Vice President Joe Biden joked about his possible Indian heritage during a speech at the Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
Biden said that if he had any links with India he might consider running for office in the South Asian country.
He said that one of the first letters he received when he was elected to the Senate in 1972 was from a Biden in India, who said they were family.
According to Politico, Biden said he received a copy from Mumbai asserting that they were related, suggesting that their mutual, great, great, great, something or other worked for the East India Trading Company back in the 1700s and came to Mumbai.
Biden said he wished he'd followed up on it, and suggested an Indian genealogist could check it out.
According to the report, Biden further discussed about the United States' and India's economies, their partnerships, obstacles to expanding trade between the two countries, environmental issues and how the two can work together moving forward. (ANI)
