New Delhi, Dec 31 (ANI): The Indian Army has cancelled all New Year parties to express its solidarity with the 23-year-old Delhi gang-rape victim.
The Indian Army Headquarter has issued advisory to all the commands to cancel the New Year celebrations.
Army chief General Bikaram Singh and his wife Bubbles Singh will visit patients in Army Research and Referral Hospital here and Base Hospital on the New Year.
Meanwhile, several state governments, hotels, clubs and business houses have either cancelled or toned down the New Year's eve celebrations as a mark of respect to the gang-rape rape victim. Punjab and Haryana governments have cancelled their planned programmes to usher in the New Year.
Press Club of India, Delhi Gymkhana Club and several other clubs have also cancelled the New Year's eve celebrations. Several business houses in Chandigarh have also decided to cancel or tone down the events.

Amid outpouring of anger and grief in the country, the body of the 23-year-old gang-rape victim was flown to New Delhi from Singapore early on Sunday morning and cremated within hours.
The mortal remains were flown to the national capital in a Special Aircraft of Air India and after landing at IGI airport. Family members accompanied the body.
The cremation took place under a dense cover of fog.
The girl was gang-raped and brutally assaulted allegedly by six men in a moving bus in south Delhi on December 16 night.
Delhi Police, which has imposed Section 144 in various places of the national capital, had earlier on Saturday invoked murder charges against the six men allegedly involved in the gang-rape of the girl in a moving bus after she died in a Singapore hospital and decided to file the charge sheet in court on January 3.
