New Delhi, Dec 25 (ANI): Delhi Police constable Subhash Chand Tomar, who was injured during baton charge on protesters at the India Gate on Sunday, died on Tuesday morning at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
Tomar was declared deat at 6:40 am today.
Tomar was called to maintain law and order during protests at the India Gate against brutal gang-rape of a girl.
"Constable Subash Tomar was at duty at Rajpath. We have lost a brave soldier of ours. We will demand legal inquiry into the matter and help their family," said Taj Hassan, Joint Commissioner of Police."
Tomar (47) was on ventilator since his admission in the hospital.
"He was doing his duty on direction of his seniors and had done nothing wrong. We have lost a family member. It is public's fault and we are unhappy with the leaders they are doing politics," said Tomar's brother.
Tomar was a graduate from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh. (ANI)
