Dec. 16 gang-rape case: Delhi Court to pronounce verdict on Sept. 10

New Delhi, Sept 3 (ANI): A Delhi Court has reserved its verdict against the four adult accused in the December 16 gang-rape case for September 10.

A fast track court has concluded the trial against the adult accused. Additional Sessions Judge Yogesh Khanna on Tuesday reserved his order after the prosecution and the defence counsel concluded their final arguments.

The Juvenile Justice Board had earlier on August 31 declared the youngest accused guilty of all charges and sent him to a reformatory home for three years

The four adult accused in this case are being tried before a fast track court. One of the accused Ram Singh allegedly committed suicide in Tihar Jail, where he was lodged.

The 23-year-old paramedical student was raped, beaten and tortured by six men on a moving bus in South Delhi area on December 16 last year.

The victim later died of internal injuries in a Singapore hospital two weeks later.

The girl's family had asked for death penalty for all six men accused of the barbaric attack, and said the juvenile should be tried as an adult as a special case given the sheer depravity of the crime. (ANI)
