Cuttack (The Telegraph):
KKR captain Gautam Gambhir was pleased with his team’s performance on Sunday. He said that they key was to keep it simple.
The following are excerpts:
The game plan
We thought that we have to play till the end... The ball was keeping low and it was difficult to play strokes. So, we needed to keep it simple… I am glad that the team performed in unison.
On learning from mistakes
As I keep saying that we have to learn from our mistakes… We never thought that we could lose this match.
The memories (of the Eden) never came back. We played Kings XI Punjab a couple of days back and we won by eight wickets. I think that says a lot of about our performance… It shows that we have the quality to bounce back.

Debabrata Das keeping his cool in the final stages
When I first had a look at him at the nets, I felt that this guy had a lot of potential. If he keeps going like this, he can play for India one day… He has a whole range of shots in his repertoire.
He is the guy to watch out for in the IPL. With nine games still to go, you can expect something special from him
Yusuf Pathan’s failure
For me, Yusuf Pathan is the biggest batsman in this format... He is someone who can come good on any day…
If we win games without a major contribution from Pathan, that shows the depth in our squad. But I am hundred per cent sure that he will win us two to three games. He is a match-winner…
The depth in KKR’s batting
We are far below than playing our best cricket. I have always maintained that we have got a lot of potential in the dressing room. Even when I sit in the dressing room and look around, I feel that we have great players in our side and they are all match-winners. So, we still feel that our best is yet to come.
Obviously, when you are the captain of the team which have a lot of talent, you feel comfortable that you have options to replace a player. We also have a lot of strength in our batting line-up…
