Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza won the toss and chose to bat in the first of a two-match Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
Bangladesh handed a debut to pace bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin for the match at Colombo's R. Premadasa Stadium.
Sri Lanka picked Lasith Malinga and Vikum Sanjaya, who had played no part in the preceding Test and one-day international series.
