Congress to hold brainstorming session in Jaipur from Jan. 18

New Delhi, Jan. 16 (ANI): The Congress Party would be organised its brainstorming session called 'Chintan Shivir' in Jaipur from January 18 to 20 to discuss the political and economic situations in the country and seek new ideas ahead of the next Lok Sabha polls.

The three-day event, to be followed by a daylong Congress session, will debate five key areas of policy-making.

Political challenges, emerging socio-economic challenges, foreign relations, issues relating to women's empowerment and organisational strength will be debated and discussed by the Congress at the conclave.

Proceedings of the 'Chintan Shivir' will start with an opening speech of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and will end on January 20 with the adoption of the Jaipur Declaration.

Congress General Secretary Janardhan Dwivedi had earlier last month said the camp would review economic and political situation and discuss schemes for urban and rural areas.

"We had been thinking to hold 'Chintan Shivir' for many days, but we were putting it on hold due to serious regular political activities. But now we have decided that we will host 'Chintan Shivir' in January. 18th, 19th and 20th of January have been decided as dates for 'Chintan Shivir'. We will host the 'Chintan Shivir' on 18th and 19th of January and then there will be a meeting on the 20th," said Dwivedi.

"In 'Chintan Shivir', we will discuss all the current economical and social problems and on 20th of January, we will take decisions of all the conclusions of 'Chintan Shivir'," he added. (ANI)
