Beijing, Jan 22 (IANS) The Chinese government Tuesday launched an official website that will showcase outstanding domestic as well as foreign documentaries.
The website docuchina.cntv.cn has been jointly set up by the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT) and the China Network Television, Xinhua reported.
It will feature industrial trends, expert advice for documentary makers, project financing and academic research.
Figures from the China Radio, Film and Television Programmes Exchanging Center said documentary films accounted for 17 percent of the centre's total revenue from overseas sales in 2012, up by 40 percent year-on-year.
A seven-episode documentary series "A Bite of China" that reflected Chinese values and lifestyles by showing various cuisines was sold to 27 countries, raking in $350,000 in overseas sales.
