Washington, Oct 2 (ANI): Chelsea has regained their form after a poor start to the season with a one-sided 4-0 win away to Romanian champions Steaua Bucharest in their Champions League clash on Tuesday.
Recovering from their shock 2-1 defeat by Swiss side Basel at Stamford Bridge in their opening game, Chelsea broke the deadlock with an opening goal by Brazilian midfielder Ramires in the 20th minute, with hapless Steaua right-back Daniel Georgievski putting through his own goal on the verge of half-time.
According to Fox News, Ramires added a third early in the second period, before captain Frank Lampard's low shot sealed victory in the 90th minute, despite a worrying start to the game due to an injury to Fernando Torres, who left the fray after hurting his knee in the 11th minute.
The report mentioned that Chelsea is three points below German side Schalke 04, whose 1-0 win at Basel in the other Group E game leaves them at the summit ahead of back-to-back games between the sides later this month and in early November, the report added. (ANI)
