CBI files fresh FIR in coal scam, names Jindal as accused

The CBI has registered a case against Naveen Jindal and Jindal Steel and Power Ltd over coal block allocations.

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today filed new cases in the coal block allocation scam and named Congress MP Naveen Jindal and former Minister of State for Coal Dasari Narayan Rao as accused.

The FIR accused that Jindal and his company Jindal Power and Steel Ltd of misrepresentation of crucial information.

The FIR also charged Jindal with forgery and cheating, reports IBN-Live.

Jindal's home and offices were also raided.

This is the 12th FIR filed in the coal scam investigation.

The Jindal group was allotted a total of 11 block, making it the largest beneficiary of the allotment.

The CBI is investigating alleged irregularities in the awarding of coal mining rights potentially worth billions of dollars to private companies.
