Sydney, Aug 19 (ANI): Cricket Australia chief executive James Sutherland has said that team performance GM Pat Howard could not be blamed for the nation's recent failure in the Ashes, along with the T20 boom in the country's domestic circuit.
According to news.com.au, Sutherland revealed that a system to improve pitches was being developed and a lot of work needed to be done in the batting department, along with the spinners.
The chief executive said that Mickey Arthur's appointment as coach had not worked out but sometimes these things happened.
Sutherland said that over the world, countries play a T20 competition and this was not unique to Australia, and therefore could not be blamed for player failure. (ANI)
