New Delhi, Jan. 19 (ANI): A busy diplomatic week awaits Union External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid with three Foreign Ministers arriving in New Delhi for bilateral discussions.
Australia's Foreign Minister Robert John Carr is arriving in New Delhi on Saturday night for the 8th India-Australia Framework Dialogue to be held on January 21.
The two Ministers are expected to review outcomes of the visit of Australian P. M. Julia Gillard in October 2012 and chart the way ahead.
The both countries had agreed to launch negotiations on Civil Nuclear Cooperation Agreement during her visit.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov will arrive on January 21 for the 4th meeting of the India-Turkmenistan Inter-Governmental Joint Commission on trade, economy, scientific and technological cooperation to be held on January 22.
The visiting Minister will meet Khurshid, Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Veerappa Moily and also call on the President Pranab Mukherjee on 21 January.
Sri Lanka's External Affairs Minister G.L. Peiris will also arrive here on January 21 to co-chair 8th India-Sri-Lanka Joint Commission Meeting with Khurshid January 22.
In addition to trade all aspects of bilateral cooperation between both the countries will be discussed during the meeting.
Issues related to fisheries, cultural cooperation are also likely to be discussed at the meeting.
Matters relating to efforts at political reconciliation between the Sri Lankan Government and the Tamils are also likely to figure in bilateral discussions between Khurshi and his counterpart.
Sri Lankan Minister is also expected to call on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on January 23. (ANI)
