'Bullish' Ronaldo says Real Madrid better than United ahead of CL clash

London, Feb 5(ANI): Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed Real Madrid is a better club with a stronger squad than his former team Manchester United.

The flamboyant forward, who has scored an incredible 179 goals in 178 games since he left United for the Bernabeu in 2009, knows he will be the central figure of an epic last 16 tie when he returns to Old Trafford for the first leg next Wednesday, the Daily Mail reports.

Ronald, who was speaking to Champions Match day, which is the official UEFA Champions League magazine, said he believes things will go well for Madrid, adding in his opinion the Los Blanco have a better team than United,

The Portuguese ace, however, insisted Madrid has to show that on the pitch because United is a very united team and always have been in recent years.

Ronaldo said he has always wanted to face United for some time because he has great memories of his time there.

Ronaldo added United manager Sir Alex Ferguson taught him the basis of football, adding he arrived in Manchester when he was only 18.

The former United ace further said Ferguson managed his career in the best possible way, and for him he is one of the most important people in football.

Ronaldo added he still has an excellent relationship with Ferguson and it will be nice to see him again, adding it will be a match in which he will feel a lot.

Ronaldo also said that he was there at the Old Trafford for six years and he has a lot of friends, adding it will be a match with a lot of emotion. (ANI)
