Buchanan steps down as New Zealand cricket coach

Sydney, July 20 (ANI): Former Australian coach John Buchanan has reportedly stepped down from his post as New Zealand director of cricket and coach and has decided to return to Australia.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Buchanan was appointed to the role in May 2011 by former New Zealand Cricket (NZC) chief executive Justin Vaughan and was said to have a difficult relationship with current boss David White.

A statement from NZC said that Buchanan is disappointed to be leaving at this time as he has enjoyed his work.

However, the statement added, he has decided to return to Australia due to family circumstances. (ANI)
