London, Aug 14 (IANS) A 61-year-old cameraman working for Britain's Sky News was killed in Cairo Wednesday, as security forces cleared up sit-ins in support of ousted president Mohamed Morsi.
Mick Deane was part of a team covering the violence in Cairo. He was "shot and killed", but the rest of the team were unhurt, Xinhua cited Sky News as saying.
Deane had worked for Sky News for 15 years, based in Washington and then Jerusalem.
"I am saddened to hear of the death of cameraman Mick Deane, covering Egyptian violence. My thoughts are with his family and the Sky News team," British Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted.
At least 95 people were killed and around 900 injured across Egypt Wednesday, as police conducted a dispersal operation against supporters of Morsi. The presidency announced a state of emergency across the nation for one month.
