Calcutta, Nov. 6: Britannia Industries Ltd has posted a 20.47 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 45.60 crore for the quarter ended September against Rs 37.85 crore in the same period last year.
Total income from operations grew 9.33 per cent to Rs 1,416.60 crore from Rs 1,295.64 crore in the year-ago period.
"Despite a sharp and unexpected increase in commodity and fuel cost, we continue to drive profitable growth by focusing on three priority areas of revenue management, cost management and innovation. On a consolidated basis, the dairy and international operations are accretive and contribute positively to both revenue and profit," managing director Vinita Bali said.
On a consolidated basis, revenues grew 9.5 per cent to Rs 1,542.6 crore and net profit increased 36.4 per cent to Rs 58.9 crore.
