Calcutta, Feb. 11: Food company Britannia Industries Ltd has posted a 5.34 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 56.96 crore for the third quarter ended December 31 against Rs 54.07 crore in the same period of the previous year.
Net sales rose 16.8 per cent to Rs 1,453.33 crore from Rs 1,243.99 crore the previous year.
Total income from operations stood at Rs 1,467.58 crore against Rs 1,249.11 crore in the same period last fiscal.
On a consolidated basis, the Wadia Group enterprise reported revenues of Rs 1,607.9 crore in the third quarter, up 16.4 per cent over last year. Net profit rose 11 per cent to Rs 62.1 crore. This takes the year-to-date (YTD) consolidated revenue till December to Rs 4,498.7 crore, up about 12.6 per cent. The YTD consolidated net profit rose 21 per cent to Rs 167.4 crore.
"Our growth momentum is solid with a 16.4 per cent increase in revenue during this quarter. We continue to invest in our brands and infrastructure to drive profitable growth," Vinita Bali, managing director of Britannia Industries, said today.
Texmaco Rail and Engineering has reported a net profit of Rs 34.93 crore for the December quarter against Rs 10.74 crore in the year-ago period.
Gross sales stood at Rs 301.87 crore against Rs 115.18 crore in the same period last year.
Gross sales for the nine month period ended December was up 25 per cent to Rs 807.36 crore, while net profit was up 34 per cent at Rs 85.42 crore.
