Brit-woman jailed over sex charges in Dubai feared being 'stoned to death'

London, Oct. 21 (ANI): British woman, Rebecca Blake, who was reportedly arrested in Dubai over sex charges, has been finally freed from jail and now warns women visiting the country about its horrific laws against the fairer sex.

Blake, 30, was traveling with a male colleague, Conor McRedmond in a Dubai taxi after an evening of merry, and when the driver realized the two friends were drunk, he took them the wrong way and led them to a police station where they were arrested separately on accounts of 'sex outside marriage'.

According to the Daily Star, Blake revealed that the police of Dubai, made her stay in the cell for two days, without telling her why she was arrested and it was only when she was sent for sex tests that the doctor told her the reason.

Even after she was cleared off the sex tests, which proved that she had not had any sex for a long time, she was kept in the cell forced to take highly-addictive drug, Valium, by prison doctors that eventually made her serve double the sentence of 41 days.

She revealed that their lawyer even asked them if they would marry each other, to which her colleague agreed, but Blake explained that was technically married six years ago.

Blake said that it was only when she was on a plane bound for home, that she realized it was all over and warned people of the dangers of Dubai which has a dark side and anyone can be a victim.

The report said that as Dubai is ruled by Sharia law, the legal system derived from the Koran and seen as the 'word of God', the punishment for sex offences includes death penalty, executed either by firing squad or stoning for those caught committing adultery. (ANI)
