London, Dec 18 (ANI): The British media has said that the era of England heroes who have brought swagger to the country's cricket has come to an end.
According to the Mirror, there was anger at the WACA as England put the finishing touches to their surrender.
There was also dismay about the crushing nature of their Ashes defeat to an Australian team that played superbly, but is not on a par with the great sides of the past, the report said.
There was bewilderment that Ben Stokes, a lad in his second Test, had just played the kind of innings that none of England's senior batsmen have been able to muster on this tour, the report added.
There was regret that the Ashes had been lost before Christmas and that the England fans flying out for the Tests in Melbourne and Sydney will only get to see dead rubbers, the report further said. (ANI)
