Wellington, Oct 9 (ANI): New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum has hailed spinner Ish Sodhi, with 14 first-class games to his name, as an incredible talent with his variations and speed through the air, ahead of the Test series in Bangladesh.
According to Stuff.co.nz, New Zealand's cricketers swaggered into Bangladesh ill-prepared in 2010 and slunk away soon afterwards with a 4-0 ODI series defeat.
Now, captain McCullum and three other survivors from that tour; Ross Taylor, Kane Williamson and BJ Watling, front up in Chittagong to try and rid that memory in the first of two Tests, the report said.
McCullum said that the tour still hurts, as it was a very damaging one for many people, hurting a lot of people's careers in cricket in their country as well.
McCullum also gave Sodhi and Corey Anderson solid chance of making their respective debuts on a pitch that appeared dry and spin-friendly, the report added.
He also said that his team was now better at playing spin than what it was a few years ago. (ANI)
