Boycott says Pietersen was stripped from captaincy in 2009 by ECB

London, June 9(ANI): England Test legend Geoffrey Boycott has added a new twist in the ongoing Kevin Pietersen row by claiming that the dashing batsman was sacked in 2009 as captain over the phone by England managing director Hugh Morris.

BBC was then asked to clarify comments made by Boycott by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chairman Giles Clarke, The Sun reports.

Clarke then asked Test Match Special to read out comments that Pietersen made at the time confirming he resigned and was not sacked, the report said. (ANI)
