BJP a 'veil' to disrupt unity of country, warns Lalu Yadav

Patna, Sept. 16 (ANI): Rashtriya Janata Dal ( RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Monday continued his criticism of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, and said the Bharatiya Janata Party was not a political party, but instead a 'veil' to disrupt the unity and integrity of the country.

"The biggest example is Narendra Modi, who is being supported by communal forces like the RSS in Nagpur in particular. They have hatred towards and anger against the minorities," Yadav said.

"The BJP is not a party, they are a veil who are attempting to disrupt the unity and integrity of our country. The selection of their Prime Ministerial candidate shows that they are doing what is comparable to breaking India," he added.

In the lead-up to the 2014 general elections, Yadav also appealed to the public to thoroughly identify the communal and secular groups of the country.

"I must make the common man aware to save this nation. They should differentiate between the secular and communal faces. ...The BJP and the RSS are trying to communalise the nation for vote bank politics," Yadav said.

Lalu Yadav used the opportunity to target Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and alleged that he is not a factor in the state anymore. Criticizing Kumar, Yadav said the Chief Minister has 'suddenly' been reminded of secularism after walking with the NDA and the BJP for many years.

Yadav has repeatedly criticized Gujarat Chief Minister, even prior to the BJP's announcement of Modi as their Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014 general elections.

On September 11, Yadav appealed to the youth of the country to not vote for Narendra Modi, saying that they would be the 'victim' if the Gujarat Chief Minister comes to power.

"Narendra Modi and his supporters make big promises as they assure that youth will be given employment. I should tell the youth that you will be the victim as they were involved in the riots in the past," he said.

On Friday, Narendra Modi, who is leaving no stone unturned to win the election battle for the saffron outfit, was announced as the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate for the 2014. (ANI)
