London, Feb 1 (ANI): Football star David Beckham has signed a five-month deal with big-spending French club Paris St Germain, and the former England international has decided to donate his 3.3 million pound salary to a kids' charity in a generous gesture.
In an incredible act of bigheartedness, Beckham announced that he would be donating his 150,000 pound-a-week wages to help kids at a hospital in the French capital, the Daily Mirror reports.
Beckham said one reason he wanted to come to Paris was because they decided on something quite unique, adding he won't receive any salary.
The former Manchester United talisman added his salary would go to a local children's charity, adding it's one of the things he is excited and proud to do.
Beckham added he is not sure whether such a generous gesture has been done before, adding it's a very good figure.
The overwhelmingly generous move provoked a huge response on Twitter, the paper said.
Football presenter Gary Lineker tweeted: "David Beckham is donating his PSG salary to a Parisian charity. As beautifully delivered as one of his crosses."
While French striker Louis Saha tweeted: "Absolutely king move and king gesture from King #Beckham. #PSG. He s now higher in my eye than many real Kings."
Miracle footballer Fabrice Muamba said: "David Beckham is giving his salary away to charity, you got to love beckham for doing that."
Beckham's four children will go to school in Britain but his new club is believed to have laid on a luxury Paris home complete with pool, gym and cinema.
The former Real Madrid star's move is perfect for wife Victoria, whose burgeoning fashion design empire will be boosted by moving to the city.
His new club unveiled Beckham, who left LA Galaxy before Christmas, after passing a medical on Friday. (ANI)
