Washington, Feb 9 (ANI): AOL, the American company that develops, grows, and invests in brands and web sites, has posted its first revenue gain in eight years.
The firm's quarterly sales climbed four percent to 600 million dollars as it got a boost from increased advertising revenue.
According to the New York Daily News, analysts on average had been expecting the company's sales to slip to about 567 million dollars, and the news helped drive AOL's shares up 7 percent to 33.60 dollars in midday trading.
The company's sales got a big boost from search advertising, which jumped 17 percent.
The report said the ad sales made on behalf of other websites jumped 31 percent.
Overall advertising revenue rose 13 percent to 410.6 million dollars, the report said. (ANI)
