Just over 12 hours to go for the start of the Dharamsala Test and the BCCI made two new additions to the official team sheet of India.
Mohammed Shami and Mumbai batsman Shreyas Iyer have been added to the squad, increasing the size of India’s dressing room to 17 players.
BCCI StatementThe All-India Senior Selection Committee met earlier today to add fast bowler Mohammed Shami and batsman Shreyas Iyer in the India Cricket Team for the final Test of the four-match Paytm Test series against Australia.
Bengal speedster Shami’s inclusion puts Ishant Sharma’s spot in the line-up in danger. The Delhi bowler’s lack of wickets has been a case of concern for the Indian team throughout the series.
Shami recently bowled with a lot of fire for Bengal in the Vijay Hazare Trophy grabbing 4 for 26 in the final against Tamil Nadu.
Shreyas Iyer has been called as cover for Virat Kohli who is nursing an injured shoulder and will decide on his availability for the decider tonight or before the match.
