New York, January 24 (ANI): A baseball bearing the signatures of Babe Ruth and Al Capone, who became symbols of the Jazz Age along with speakeasies and flappers, is up for auction.
Babe Ruth and Al Capone, two icons of the roaring twenties, reportedly both signed the same baseball at Comiskey Park on Chicago's south side in 1931, the New York Daily News reported.
Shortly before Capone's incarceration for tax evasion, future Hall of Fame Yankee Herb Pennock was with the Big Bambino in Chicago to play the White Sox.
The American gangster, a known baseball fan, was in attendance.
According to the Chicago Sun-Time, the first bid is set at 25,000 dollars but some expect the baseball to sell for as much as 200,000 dollars. (ANI)
