JODHPUR: The bail plea hearing of the self-styled god man Asaram Bapu, currently lodged in jail for alleged sexual assault on a minor, has been deferred till October 1 by the Rajasthan High Court, Zee News reported.
Earlier, the High Court, while directing the prosecution to produce the case diary in the next session, had deferred the hearing of bail plea of Asaram till September 18.
Asaram's defence lawyer, Ram Jethmalani had argued in the court that the entire case including the FIR lodged against Asaram, the scene of the crime, the age of the girl was fabricated.
He said that the minor rape victim suffers a disease that draws her to men, in an attempt to blow a hole in the prosecutor's claims that she was raped by the self-styled god man.
The defence lawyer claimed in front of the Rajasthan High Court that the girl's 'chronic disease' was subject to police investigation.
Jethmalani argued that the entire case including the FIR lodged against Asaram, the scene of the crime, the age of the girl was fabricated.
