Aalo (Arunachal Pradesh), Jan. 10 (ANI):Most government-run schools in Arunachal Pradesh are functioning with the help of infrastructures of the early sixties, and now, Chief Minister Nabam Tuki has said that his government is committed to replacing these infrastructures with concrete buildings.
Tuki revealed this during a whirlwind visit to West Siang on January 9.
Gracing the Annual Day of the Siyom Army Public School, he lauded the Indian Army for helping in a civilian cause that aims to impart quality education to children across the state in general and particularly in the district.
He expressed his gratitude to Major General R.P.S. Bhaduria, General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Likabali and Brigadier Ajay Verma for their initiative to give shape to a model school here. He also laid the foundation stone of 20 bedded wards at District Hospital Aalo.
During his visit to Govt.Higher Secondary School Aalo, Tuki assured to place demands like the construction of a rostrum, teachers quarters, classroom buildings in next SPB on top-most priority, and declared amid applause to get the Golden Jubilee Hall sanctioned during this current financial year.
"What we need today is a congenial society, where we all can thrive and live peacefully and encourage students to inculcate discipline, duty and devotion to excel in different parameters of life, and to be good members of the society," he said.
A football match was played in the school ground between DC XI and CM XI, and the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
The DC XI was leading 2-0 at half time but CM XI fought back to level the score in the dying minute through a splendid goal by M.P. Takam Sanjay.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Member of Parliament Takam Sanjay, Transport Minister Jarkar Gamlin, Dy. Speaker Jomde Kena, Parliamentary Secretaries Gojen Gadi, Gadam Ete and P.D. sona, Tako Dabi MLA and host of senior leaders and officers of state govt.
The dignitaries will attend the Galo Day Celebration today. The chief minister and his team were given a rousing reception on their arrival at the helipad. (ANI)
