Sydney, Aug 20 (ANI): Former Australian coach Mickey Arthur has said that the Australian cricket team is still very much an old boys club and a lot of the ex-players carry a huge amount of weight.
According to news.com,au, Arthur expressed that when he was with South Africa, the players managed to successfully run themselves but the Australian guys needed to be shown how to do that.
The former coach said that ultimately when the players' positions are secure, they will be fine and emerge as the next generation of leaders, but he had to be cruel to be kind early on.
Arthur coached the South African national team from 2005 to 2010 and it was a young side when he started the process with them, the report said. (ANI)
