Aurangabad (Maharashtra), Feb 7 (IANS) An army soldier was arrested after he set his fiancee on fire over a trivial matter of saree-selection, police said here Thursday.
The incident took place Wednesday when the accused Sachin Hanvate went to purchase sarees with his fiancee as they were getting married next week.
"Hanvate's fiancee expressed her dislike for a saree he selected for her and they started quarrelling over it after they returned home," an official told IANS.

"The matter went out of control when Hanvate set her afire in a fit of rage," the official said.
The victim has suffered 80 percent burns and is under critical medical care since Wednesday afternoon.
Hanvate was arrested late Wednesday and has been charged with attempt to murder.
