Apple rejects app allowing users to 'act like rebels in Syrian civil war'

New York, Jan 10 (ANI): Tech giant Apple has rejected releasing a video game about the civil war in Syria that allows users to act as rebels trying to oust the current government of President Bashar al-Assad.

Endgame Syria, developed by the British group Auroch Digital, is already available on Android and as an HTML5 browser game.

But the game's basis in a bloody, real life conflict wasn't palatable for Apple.

According to the New York Daily News, the tech firm said that the game 'violated its guidelines by targeting a specific race, culture, a real government or corporation, or any other real entity'.

Endgame Syria is played through the eyes of rebel groups trying to oust Assad's regime.

According to the report, the game allows users to explore the options open to the rebels as they push the conflict to its endgame. (ANI)
