New York, June 27 (ANI): More than 58 percent of U.S. parents have admitted that they use a tech gadget to "babysit" or occupy their little one, a recent study has revealed.
The poll conducted by CouponCodes4u.com has found that on an average, respondents, who all had at least one child between the ages of 2 and 13, said that they use this method of child care about twice a week, the New York Daily News reported.
Some of the respondents have revealed that are turning to technology for the task because it allows them to take a break from parenting, while others said that it gives them some private "me-time."
One fourth of the 2,400 parents surveyed said that using gadgets as makeshift babysitters is situational.
It was found that the most common instances in which moms and dads used a smartphone, tablet or handheld game console to keep their kids entertained and busy were travel, boredom and family functions.
Meanwhile, it was also observed that 15 percent of parents said they never resorted to technology to babysit their kids. (ANI)
