5 Ways to Make Your Engagement Album Memorable

One of the most heartwarming sights is to see a couple ‘oh-so-in-love’, ready to take the big plunge. An engagement album is the best reflection of the love and excitement shared by the couple. These days the rising trend is to capture candid shots or have a post-engagement shoot to add to the engagement album. These not only add that something “extra” to the album, but also bring out your fun and creative side. Here are some ways to go about it.

Find a good location

The importance of the perfect location has to be kept in mind. It will not only create a unique environment for the shoot but also give you both a special feeling. Also, remember to have a location that both of you love. There is a growing trend to take these pictures at old forts with the rustic buildings or lakes in the background. You can sit with your photographer and decide on places like beaches, parks, gardens, famous monuments, or even museums! However, these location shots are usually taken after the engagement.

Plan for a theme

Just like the location, a unique theme can do wonders for your captured moments, while bringing out the best creativity. Make it relevant to your relationship; be it some hobby, or a movie that both of you like, a special song, or even a sport. Play along with the theme and plan your costumes, makeup, and accessories accordingly. A maharaja theme, retro look, or even a Barbie and Ken theme would be cute, if your partner agrees. Bollywood inspired themes where couples are dressed in the popular looks of famous celebrities is also an option.

Go for candid shots

If one of you is camera-shy, you ask the photographer to click candid photos to have a natural feel to the album. Simply talk, look into each other’s eyes, laugh, and do all the regular things. Your photographer will bring out the essence in your relationship. Photographer Faizan Patel agrees, “Most couples these days ask for candid shots. These definitely bring out the “realness” in the relationship.” One of the most amazing things about this is the feeling of closeness and love that comes out in the photos. Every bit is evident in the couple’s eyes and body language.

Colour combinations and signs

Another way to make your album fun is to use the same colour combinations in the background of the album as the theme of your engagement venue. Then, you could use funny and romantic signs or slogans for a few pictures to add a hint of comedy. Don't Miss: How to Choose the Right Wedding Photographer

Relax and have fun

The most important thing to remember is to chill and have fun. Meet your photographer once or twice before the actual date of the shoot. Establish a comfortable relationship with him/her, which would reflect in your album, and most importantly, enjoy the experience.

These simple tips can never fail. These are the ways your engagement album can have the fun and peppy feel, apart from all the love. Photographer Faizan Patel even goes on to add that these clicks can be so good, that one of his clients even used the images on their wedding invites!
