Keep your skin ready

There are several steps to follow prior to your wedding makeup. Make sure that you moisturise your skin carefully, the night before the wedding. Use a cleansing lotion to clean the skin pores, and an eye cream would be great for your dark circles. Avoid all prolonged contact with sunlight before your wedding, and keep your body and skin hydrated. Use a primer before applying makeup, and find a cool and quiet place to sleep the night before your wedding.

Use long-lasting products

A common makeup trouble that many brides face is of requiring constant touch ups. When different layers of your makeup start becoming visible, your face starts falling apart. Finishing sprays can take care of this common problem. They not only help in keeping your makeup perfectly in place for a longer time but also give your face a fresh dewy look. A finishing spray can also prevent your makeup from sliding or melting.

Manage your hair style

Before choosing your bridal hairstyle keep in mind few details such as the season, and outdoor and indoor temperatures. During summers, prepare your hair for styling with a protective serum, so that blow dryers do not suck moisture out of your locks. Make some additions towards the end if you are wearing your hair down. Always avoid hair sprays that contain alcohol especially if your hair is naturally dry and sticky.

Have an emergency makeup kit

You never know what will actually happen at the wedding so it is advisable to be prepared with a touch up kit. You should remember to pack oil-blotting papers, an eye liner, a lip liner, a lip gloss and a compact powder. Carry your lipstick, blush and eye colours in a convenient case. Have a small cosmetic bag close by with all your makeup essentials packed inside.

Things to avoid

You should avoid going for any kind of waxing and facials right before the wedding. Do not even think of experimenting on your special day. Also avoid overdoing your eye circles or applying multiple coats of mascara on your eye lashes, try to use heavy pencils to define your eyes and brows, to get the desired effect.
