2012 exit poll shows majority of Americans thought Romney would favour rich

Washington, Nov. 7 (ANI): One of the last exit polls that was conducted before results of the US presidential elections were announced showed that American voters presume Mitt Romney would favor the wealthy, while President Barack Obama's policies were more likely to help the middle class.

According to the CBS News poll, 43 percent of those surveyed said Obama's policies favor the middle class, compared with 10 percent who said they favor the rich, and 31 percent who said his policies favor the poor, Politico reports.

For Romney, those numbers were flipped: 36 percent said his policies would favor the middle class, compared with 52 percent who said they'd favor the rich and just 2 percent who said Romney's policies would favor the poor, the poll said.

Though both campaigns have focused on the middle class throughout the general election, it was Obama who emerged as a clear winner after sweeping massive votes all throughout the US and major swing states of Ohio, Iowa, and Wisconsin. (ANI)
