Top 10 Cricketers With Best Hairdos At IPL 2013

altOur cricketers make headlines for all the good, bad and ugly reasons. When they play, they make news and when they don’t play, they still make news.

The good part is that they know how to make both the genders equally happy. While thousands of young boys look up to them for their game and sportsman spirit, they also make women go weak-in-their-knees through their class, style, inimitable personality and stylish hairstyles.

As the IPL takes the drivers’ seat, we at MensXP look at the top 8 cricketers who’ve impressed us with their coolest hairdos.

1) Chris Gayle

He wears diamond-encrusted shades with class and carries off dreadlocks with equal panache. Need we say more about Chris Gayle, who can easily be counted as the most stylish cricketer ever! And the good news is that he also plays his bat superbly. There is a different charm about the man who knows his game both on and off the field.

2) Ravindra Jadeja

Maybe it was the 2 million dollar paycheck that pushed him to do this, but Ravindra Jadeja still manages to make this list with his CSK designed hairstyle. The cropped hair embossed with CSK suits him and his personality and makes him look like the edgy cricketer that he is touted to be. Remind us if that’s why he became Sir Ravindra Jadeja?

3) Sunil Narine

The man who was said to be the next mystery bowler could never have a plain and simple hairstyle. Well, could he? Certainly not! He made the Mohawk popular once again, which we saw at variable length. From cropped to full grown, he carried it well. Wonder, if he always had a hair gel in handy.

4) Shane Watson

Someone tell us how good can Shane Watson be? We like men who wear different hairstyles, different season. And this rugged Australian cricketer has done just that. From Emo bangs, to messy cut, to perfectly coiffure tresses and gelled back hair, he came, sported ‘em all and conquered.

5) Lasith Malinga

This Sri Lankan cricketer can carry off golden curls and still manage to look dangerously intimidating. He sometimes multi-braid it up and pull it back into a fierce look, which gets further enhanced by his pierced bows. Thank god for his outstanding bowling skills which reminds us about his profession, or else he could be easily mistaken as a rockstar.

6) Zaheer Khan

Wavy, curly, straightened and glazed, this Indian cricketer has worn it all! He comes on our list because he has a daring personality as he constantly tries to experiment with his looks. We saw him coming with a mop of plain, jaded hair, which he cropped it down to a rather military cut. He later straightened his tresses to a retro look, not before spiking and highlighting his hair to golden brown. And must say, we were bowled over!

7) Andre Russell

He is a unique man whether it comes to his unique hairstyle or the singular way in which he clobbers the ball. While some may call his hairdo a bird’s nest, but we quite like the look of it. Sharp, edgy and slant L-shaped side burns perfectly complements the side trimmed, middle voluminous mane.

8) Kevin Pietersen

Although this extremely good-looking England player is not the part of the IPL this season, we couldn’t help but include him in this list, thanks to his coolest hairstyles. We thought the ‘skunk’ look in 2005 Ashes was the boldest that he could ever go, but he proved us wrong by going blonde and later shaving his head. He is as unpredictable with his hairstyles as he is with respect to his batting.

9) Michael Clarke

If you like the ‘cool-guy’ look, then check out Michael Clarke’s old hairdo. He easily reminds of footballer David Beckham’s crew cut cum pixie look. The blond tresses looks great on Clarke and the grunge look is enhanced further by his tattoos, one of which is written in Arabic. Michael, however, shortly changed his look opting for a cleaner and cropped mane.

10) Abhishek Nayar

His long, dishevelled and side layered hair could have made him the quintessential South Indian actor but the Mumbai-based cricketer soon cut his hair. Kudos to Abhishek for pulling off this look as it isn’t everybody’s cup of tea.
