One of the finest grounds in India, the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium at Mohali set the standards when it came to facilities for players and spectators alike, since its establishment in 1993. With a swimming pool, good practice wickets, tennis courts, an in-house gymnasium and good dressing room facilities, this is one stadium cricketers wouldn’t want to miss. Not the traditional Indian venue, this ground has generally had sporting pitches, with lots of assistance for seam bowlers. Known as one of the liveliest surfaces in the country, it later changed its nature and began producing high-scoring draws. However, the most memorable incident on this ground has been the semi-final clash between Australia and West Indies in the 1996 World Cup. It is now home to the IPL franchise, Kings XI Punjab.
