FH Edwards captured 5 for 103 in this test providing the 51st occasion of a West Indies bowler capturing five or more wickets in an innings against India.

 

 

FH Edward's 5 for 103 in this test provides the seventh occasion of a West Indies bowler capturing five or more wickets in an innings conceding 100 plus runs against India.

 

 

D Bishoo {2 for 125} and FH Edwards {5 for 103} conceded 100 plus runs in this test to provide the 52nd and 53rd occasion of a West Indies bowler conceding 100 plus runs against India.

 

 

S Chanderpaul completed 5000 runs at home when he was on 18 during the course of his knock of 73 not out in this test. At the end of the fourth day, his aggregate read 5055. He became the second West Indian batsman to achieve the feat after BC Lara who has an an aggregate of 6217 runs.

 

 

S Chanderpaul became the most West Indies capped cricketer at home. This was his 66th test and he went past BC Lara who had played 65 tests at home and held the previous record.

 

 

S Chanderpaul became the 12th batsman to total 5000 plus runs at home. KA Edwards became the 90th batsman in the annals of test cricket to score a hundred on test debut. His hundred provides the 92nd occasion of a batsman accomplishing such a feat.

MS Dhoni took his 160th catch when he caught KA Edwards of Harbhajan Singh for 110 in this test. He now shares the record for most catches by an Indian wicket keeper held by SMH Kirmani who also has pouched 160 catches.

 

 

Harbhajan Singh has an aggregate of 35 wickets against West Indies in West Indies which include his three wickets at the end of the fourth day. Other Indian bowlers to achieve such a feat are - A Kumble {45}, S Venkataraghavan {39} and N Kapil Dev {35}. Harbhajan Singh on his way to 35 wickets went past BS Bedi who had a tally of 33 wickets against West Indies in West Indies.
