SC Chanderpaul and MN Samuels added 77 runs for the sixth wicket providing the 22nd occasion of a sixth wicket partnership of 50 plus runs in which SC Chanderpaul was one of the partners - 10 century stand and 12 half century stands.

 

SC Chanderpaul has added 77 runs for the sixth wicket in the company of MN Samuels on four occasions - 195 runs vs India at Kolkata in Oct 2002, 156 runs vs India at Basseterre in Jun 2006, 58 runs vs England at Chester-le-Street in Jun 2007 and 58 plus runs vs India at Bridgetown in Jun 2011.

 

SC Chanderpaul has been one of the partners for the sixth wicket which has yielded 50 plus runs against India on six occasions - 56 runs with CO Browne at Bridgetown in Mar 1997, 195 runs with MN Samuels at Kolkata in Oct 2002, 156 runs with MN Samuels at Basseterre in Jun 2006, 77 runs with MN Samuels at Bridgetown in Jun 2011, 166 with RD Jacobs at St John's in May 2002 and 109 with RD Jacobs at Kingston in May 2002

 

SC Chanderpaul has been one of the partners for the sixth wicket which has yielded 50 plus runs after West Indies had lost its five wickets for less than 100 runs. The four occasions are - 98 runs with RD Jacobs vs South Africa at Johannesburg in Dec 2003 after West Indies were 5 for 43, 131 runs with RD Jacobs vs Australia at Georgetown in Apr 2003 after West Indies were 5 for 53, 77 runs with MN Samuels vs India at Bridgetown in Jun 2011 after West Indies were 5 for 57 and 57 runs with JR Murray vs New Zealand at Christchurch in Feb 1995 after West Indies were 5 for 97

 

R Dravid has the record of most catches against West Indies - 21 - when he caught CS Baugh of Harbhajan Singh for 2 in this game. R Dravid went past M Azharuddin and ED Solkar who had taken 20 catches against West Indies.

 

R Dravid has the unique distinction as a fieldsman in the annals of test cricket. He is the only fieldsman to pouch 50 plus catches of two bowlers - A Kumble {55} and Harbhajan Singh {51}. CS Baugh was his 51st victim of Harbhajan Singh.

 

MN Samuels scored 78 not out in this innings providing the 284th occasion of a West Indian batsman scoring a fifty against India. This knock also represents the 188th occasion of a West Indian batsman scoring a half century against West Indies.

 

MN Samuel’s 78 not out in this innings represents his 11th half century and 13th fifty. It also represents his third fifty against India. Other occasions are - 104 at Kolkata in Oct 2002 and 87 at Basseterre in Jun 2006

 

I Sharma captured his 100th wicket of his test career when he had DJ Sammy leg before wicket for 15.  He became the 17th Indian bowler to capture 100 plus wickets in tests. He is the sixth Indian pace bowler to achieve the feat - N Kapil Dev {434}, Zaheer Khan {271}, J Srinath {236}, KD Ghavri {109}, IK Pathan {100} and I Sharma {100}.

 

Of the captioned six bowlers, Zaheer Khan, KD Ghavri and IK Pathan are left arm pace bowlers. Thus I Sharma became the third Indian right arm pace bowler to capture 100 plus wickets,

 

I Sharma became the 157th bowler to capture 100 plus wickets in the annals of test cricket. He is the 84th right arm pace bowler to achieve the distinction

 

I Sharma captured 6 for 55 in this innings providing the 275th occasion of an Indian bowler capturing five or more wickets against various oppositions and 41st such occasion against West Indies.

 

I Sharma captured 6 for 55 in this innings providing the 110th occasion of an Indian bowler capturing six or more wickets against various oppositions and 13th such occasion against West Indies.

 

I Sharma's 6 for 55 in this innings represent his second five wicket haul of his test career. He had captured 5 for 118 vs Pakistan at Bangalore in Dec 2007. Thus his 6 for 55 in this innings represents his best bowling innings effort of his test career.

 

I Sharma's 6 for 55 in this innings represent the best bowling innings effort by an Indian pace bowler against West Indies in West Indies. The previous best was N Kapil Dev's 6 for 84 at Kingston in Apr 1989

 

I Sharma's 6 for 55 in this innings represent the fifth occasion of an Indian bowler's six or more wickets haul against West Indies in West Indies - 7 for 162 by SP Gupte at Port of Spain in Jan 1953, 6 for 120 vs BS Chandrashekar at Port of Spain in Apr 1976, 6 for 84 N Kapil Dev at Kingston in Apr 1989, 6 for 78 by A Kumble at Kingston in Jun 2006 and 6 for 55 by I Sharma at Bridgetown in Jun 2011

 

I Sharma became the first Indian bowler to capture six or more wickets in an innings against West Indies at Bridgetown. He is tenth bowler to achieve the feat at Bridgetown against West Indies.
